Electrica and Electronics Engineering is a continuously evolvingsubject,dealswiththestudyandapplicationofelectricity,electronicsandelectromagnetism.Thefieldfirstbecameanidentifiableoccupationinthelatenineteenthcenturywiththecommercializationoftheelectricalpowersystemsupply.NowElectricalandElectronicsEngineeringcoversarangeofsub-disciplinesincludingthosethatdealwithpowersystem,powerelectronics,optoelectronics,digital&analogelectronics, signal processing, computerscience,control systems,artificialintelligenceandelectricalvehicles. Thetermelectricalengineeringisconsideredtodealwiththeproblemsassociatedwithlarge-scaleelectricalsystemssuchaspowertransmissionandelectricalmotorcontrol, whereaselectronicengineeringdealswiththestudyofsmall-scaleelectronicsystemsincludingcomputersand integratedcircuits.Anotherwayoflookingatthedistinctionisthatelectricalengineersareusuallyconcerned with usingelectricitytotransmitenergy,whileelectronicsengineersareconcernedwithusingelectricitytotransmitinformation. ThedepartmentofElectricalandElectronicsEngineeringatGokula Krishna College of Engineeringpreparesstudentsasmodernengineersinthisfieldusingnew-agestotransmitenergyandinformationtoresolvechallengesfacingduetomoderntechnology.

ThedepartmentofElectrical&ElectronicsEngineeringwasestablishedintheyear2002withanannualstudentintakeof60inBachelorofTechnology(B.Tech)course.Presently,thedepartmentoffersa4-yearsundergraduateprogram.ADiplomainElectricalandElectronicsEngineeringprogramwasstartedintheyear2009withanintakeof60.AP.G.programMasterofTechnology(PowerElectronics)wasstarted intheyear2014withanintakeof18.TheMasterofTechnology(M.Tech)programisatwoyearprogramdesignedforstudentsinterestedincareerinengineeringpracticesortechnicalmanagement. ThedepartmentofElectrical&ElectronicsEngineeringhasmanylaboratoriesviz.ElectricalMachineslab(AC&DC), ElectricalCircuitslab,ElectricalMeasurementslab,ControlSystemlab, PowerElectronicslab,PowerElectronicsandDriveslab, MicroprocessorsandMicrocontrollers lab, PowerSystemandSimulationlab, Projectlabetc.,withstate-of-artfacilitiesforstudentpracticaltrainingandresearchwork.Aseparatedepartmentallibrarycumreadingroomwitharound150 volumesincludingGATEbooksisavailableforquickreferenceandinformation, along with computerandinternetfacility tomeetthecomputingneedsofthedepartment'sstaff and students.Studentsandstaffofthisdepartmentachieveseveraldistinctionseveryacademicyearintermsofsemesterexamination results commutativeexamresultsandplacementsManydistinguishedalumniofourgraduatestudentsoccupiedleadershippositionsinindustry, software,governmentandsomeofthemchosenpathtowardshighereducationandgotadmissionsinpremierinstitutions/universitiesaroundtheworld.
