Admissions


The B. Tech. programme of four-year duration was started in the year 2001 with three branches having a total intake of 180. At present the College offers the following courses with annual intake of 912, 4 M.Tech and MBA programmes of two year duration and MCA program of three year duration. AICTE has also accorded permission for 2nd Shift Polytechnic from the academic year 2009-10. Presently 3 Diploma courses are offered by 2nd Shift Polytechnic.

Eligibility Criteria:

Under Graduate : B.Tech. 
The minimum qualification for admission to first year of the B. Tech course is a pass in the Intermediate (10+2) conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects. 

Admissions to the College are made along with the other Engineering Colleges in the State through a common entrance test (EAMCET) conducted by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh.

Post Graduate: M.Tech. 
The minimum qualification for admission to first year of the M.Tech course is a pass in the B.Tech. / B.E. conducted by any University or any other examination recognized as equivalent.

Admissions to the College are made along with the other Engineering Colleges in the state through a common entrance test (PGECET/GATE). 

MBA
The minimum qualification for admission to first year of the MCA course is a pass in Degree (B.Sc./B.Com./BCA) conducted by any University or any other examination recognized as equivalent. 

Admissions to the College are made along with the other Engineering Colleges in the state through a common entrance test (ICET). 

Diploma (Second Shift Polytechnic)
The minimum qualification for admission to first year of the Diploma course is a pass in the 10th conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh or any other examination recognized as equivalent. 

Admissions to the College are made along with the other Engineering Colleges in the state through a common entrance test (CEEP) conducted by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh.

Admission Procedure
B.Tech Admission Procedure:
  • 70% of the seats are allotted by the Convener, based on merit in the EAMCET (A-Category).
  • 30% of the seats are earmarked for NRI/Management candidates (B-Category).
  • In addition to the above, Diploma holders are admitted into second year of B. Tech to the extent of 10% of intake based on merit in the ECET, under lateral entry scheme.

M.Tech Admission Procedure:

  • Computer Science (CS): B.E / B. Tech in any branch of engineering with valid GATE score or eligibility at PGECET.
  • Electrical Power Systems (EPS): B. E / B. Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with valid GATE score or eligibility at PGECET.
  • Digital Electronics & Communication System (DECS) : B.E./B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering with valid Gate score or eligibility at PGECET.

MCA / MBA Admission Procedure:

  • 70% of the seats are allotted by the Convener based on merit in the ICET.
  • 30% of the seats are earmarked for NRI/Management candidates.
